Flight 1 (9 notes)

White
2015 La Pousse d'Or Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Le Cailleret France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
90 points
Tasting, brief note. Floral aromatic start with ripe apple, sweet spice. Very good weight and richness. Moderate structure. Will drink well on the younger side.
Red
2015 La Pousse d'Or Santenay 1er Cru Clos Tavannes France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Santenay 1er Cru
90 points
Tasting, brief note. Black and red cherry with licorice and allspice. Forward and nicely rich start, good and harmonious structure middle forward. Cellar for a few more years. Nicely elegant Santenay.
Red
2015 La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
91 points
Tasting, brief note. Red cherry and berry with spice and floral hints. Oak hints protrude slightly, but will soften in a few years. This cuvee includes everything you'd expect plus the wine vinified in oak, then raised in clay amphora.

Note: we created our own assemblage of 1/3 Cuvée Amphore and 2/3 of the "regular" Cuvée, which we preferred over either on its own.
Red
2015 La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru Caillerets Cuvée Amphore France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
92 points
Tasting, brief note. Vinification and elevage in clay amphora. While similar to the "regular" cuvee, this came across as both more classically Volnay with its intense spice and floral charm, and also riper with more powerful fruit. Tannins are a bit assertive, particularly on the finish, which today comes across as slightly bitter and not perfectly harmonious. I think this has greater potential vs the regular cuvée, even if not quite as enjoyable right now. Note: we created our own assemblage of 1/3 Cuvée Amphore and 2/3 of the "regular" Cuvée, which we preferred over either on its own.
Red
2015 La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru Clos d'Audignac France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
90 points
Tasting, brief note. More floral vs traditional Caillerets cuvee with same red fruit. More firm. Good ripeness, more rugged structure.
Red
2015 La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru Clos de la Bousse d'Or France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
91 points
Tasting, brief note. Dense red and black cherry aromas/ flavors. On the powerful side for Volnay, less elegant right now. Very long finish. Good upside, 91-92 point potential as it softens.
Red
2015 La Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru Clos des 60 Ouvrées France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
92 points
Tasting, brief note. My favorite of the Volnays, both for near-term enjoyment and cellarworthiness. Mostly red cherry and berry throughout with good spice. Rich, ripe and powerful, but also persistent and long.
Red
2015 La Pousse d'Or Chambolle-Musigny France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
87 points
Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry, very pleasant now, surprisingly simple for the vintage. Moderate depth and length. Good for its level.
Red
2015 La Pousse d'Or Corton-Clos du Roi France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
Tasting, brief note. Broad array of mostly black berry aromas and flavors with some liqueur and allspice hints. Very powerful and rich, but almost weightless through to its long finish. A little baby fat needs to be shed here, but I expect this will have 93-94 point potential, 2025 forward.
