Pale yellow colour. Aromas of minerals, white flowers, and ginger. Medium-full bodied, lovely texture, unctuous, spicy, with ginger, mineral, and sugarplum notes on the palate. Moderate-long finish, ~40s, with sugarplum, ginger, and white flower notes. Surprisingly off-dry, especially in comparison to the bone-dry 2004 vintage, but not as sweet as the Demi-Sec. Very nice.
White

Clear colour with gold tinges. Huge nose of lychee, peach, spice (ginger, nutmeg, and cardamom), and honey. Full-bodied, fat, unctuous, with spice, ginger, honey, meyer lemon, and just a hint of rosemary on the palate. Long finsih, ~35s, with ginger and lychee notes. Not sure if it's worth the $48CAD price tag, but it's lovely stuff nonetheless!

1999 Fontanafredda Barbaresco Coste RubĂn Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco

Medium-garnet colour. Amazing, huge nose of leather, tar, roses, dried cherries, orange rind, spice, black plums, and sandalwood. Medium-bodied, good grip and structure, showing dried cherry, orange rind, tar, and black plums on the palate. Moderate finish, ~30-35s, with dark dried fruit and just a hint of rosemary oil. Drinking very nicely.
