White - Sparkling
2009 Vouette et Sorbée Champagne Fidèle France, Champagne
91 points
Disgorged 30/10/2012. 100% Pinot noir. Ginger and bruised apple, cherry and nutty elements. Nice moderate oxidative character with good acidity and freshness on the palate through the great acid cut. Like the style and the position this is sitting in now.
White
2006 Grosset Riesling Polish Hill Clare Valley Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley
91 points
Lemon, light honey, kerosene and pear. The palate shows good development, with the fruit rounding out and the medium acid line providing some good length. 5 years since I last tried this (it was quite awkward at that point) and it is currently in a great spot for drinking now.
White
2016 Rippon Riesling Mature Vine New Zealand, South Island, Otago, Lake Wanaka
87 points
Mineral, lime and laundry power on the nose. Moderate sweetness on the palate, but doesn't really have the acid to drive it forward. Nice but a little underwhelming.
White
2016 Weingut Keller Kirchspiel Riesling Großes Gewächs Germany, Rheinhessen
93 points
Mandarin, pineapple, orange, white florals and slate on the nose. Amazing concentration and carry on the palate, with excellent freshness and lift working together to give the wine a superb profile. Excellent length and depth here. Came back to it at the end of the night and it was just as good if not better.
White
2012 François Raveneau Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
90 points
Not all that expressive on the nose, it takes some time in the glass to show some lemon, oak and grapefruit. There is a powerful element to the palate but it doesn't have the lift or explosiveness of great Raveneau. Got better in the glass, but never really hit its level. Hopefully just a bit awkward/shutdown right now.
Red
2014 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Chambolle-Musigny France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
91 points
Really pretty on the nose with roses and raspberry, spice and stalk - interesting and attractive. The palate follows the same trend with light red fruit, fine acidity and lovely precision. Already drinking beautifully well.

2007 Tyrrell's Shiraz Vat 8 Australia, New South Wales, Hunter Valley
91 points
100% Shiraz this vintage. Bright nose with raspberry, pepper, redcurrant, violet and spearmint. Good balance on the palate, the flavours flow well and this has very good composure. Really smart wine that is developing very well.
Red
2013 Franck Balthazar Cornas Cuvée Casimir Balthazar France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas
91 points
Cherry, red currant, violets - then very earthy and peppery - some wild elements here that meld well with the more fruity and floral notes. The palate has plenty of peppery spice and has good tannins that are weaved into the fruit well. Good length and got better with air.
