Field blend, mainly Mencia from 80 year old vines.
Nose: Deep, sweet fruit. Immediate.
Taste: Rich and immediate fruit.

2016 La Vizcaína Bierzo Lomas de Valtuille El Rapolao Spain, Castilla y León, Bierzo
Blend of 85% Mencia plus 15% Bastardo (Trousseau) and Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet).
Nose: More structure, nice fruit.
Taste: Great fruit, more structure and minerality (than Ultreia Saint Jacques). Notes of Garrigue.

Great Albariño fruit on the nose and a great fruity core on the palate. From old vines literally at the ocean’s edge. Only around 1,800 bottles produced annually.

Nose: Lovely, fruity, berried nose.
Taste: Great fruit, medium concentration.

Blend of 85% Mencia, 5% Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet), 5% Caino Tinto (Borracal), 5% Brancellao (Alvarelhao).
Nose: Fantastic aroma, lots of berries and fruits.
Taste: Great concentration and fruit. Drink until 2022.

Nose: Green gooseberries, rhubarb, marzipan, flowers. Very aromatic.
Taste: A lot of different “green tastes”, including green gooseberries and rhubarb. Different and interesting.

Blend of 85% Mencia, 4% Caino Tinto (Borracal), 3% Merenzao (Trousseau), 3% Brancellao (Alvarelhao), 3% Souson, 2% Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet).
Nose: Lovely nose, both fruits and spices.
Taste: Fruity, structured, good wine.

Taste: Great structure, fruit and concentration. Some new oak.

Great nose, some oak on the palate. Good, but I prefer Guimaro’s Camino Real. Cellar for 2-5 years?
