Flight 1 (3 notes)

Red
2011 Domaine Stephane Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

Floral nose, not as flinty as others, but with a strange synthetic (others thought fishy) hint, vanished after an hour. On the palate surprisingly sweet red fruits, smooth tannins, and a zippy acidic finish.

The most enticing nose of the evening. Thats how i picture Chambolle. Maybe a bit to flinty, but viola, herbs and red fruits. On the palate I missed the sweetness to counter balance the acidity. But when I drank the second glass two hours later it was in perfect balance.

2008 Domaine Rion Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

Brick red color. The nose was somewhat similar to the one from stephane magnien, but without the strange hint. On the palate I missed the fruit and it was a bit to acidic. Maybe it was just a bad timing, I didnt think that it passed its zenith.
