Definite bottle variation as I have this wine every wine as my base blind tasting wine

Had back to back non-blind against the Yount Ridge and 2015 and wow was I surprised in the result.

Slightly dirty cellar nose in the start so the Yount Ridge wins that round. Then the Faust takes over with the length of finish and body strength. The nose is a distractor and removes a point or two.

Mixed spices and steel slate on the nose.Enticing nose.

Moderate finish with steel in the finish. (a hint of Washington state)

This was interesting - compared to the 2006, this is muted and closed. More notes to finish.

Commetns to come - powerhouse compared toi the 2007 -

Dark red

Light perfume on the nose with some light bark and tobacco and light anise.

Full bodied and rich mid palate

Still youthful

Back to gunpowder and slate stone nose.

Bark on the nose and very enticing.

Showing age/vintage

Enticing and not too powerful nose. caramel and cinnamon nose and body

Nose has an amazing amount going on. Initially steely and stony metallic shale. Then mixed spices - the finish is unusually short unfortunately which probably loses 2 points at least.

Dark ruby red in color.

Had as a direct comparison to the Faust 2016 (which is my baseline Napa compare wine)

Light nose but direct ( non blind tasting done against the full Yount Ridge vertical and the Faust 2016).

Light bark and the body is integrated
