Open and expressive nose, aromatic, pure and transparent, ripe but fresh fruit, Asian spices, high quality low toast oak, screams Vosne; the polished palate combines mouthcoating richness wth elegance, completely smooth tannins, fresh and ripe, power without weight, excellent flavour intensity of fruit and flowers (violets, roses), perfectly integrated oak (100% new), carried by its mineral energy; there is a fan of aromatic spices on the finish, which has excellent length. Impeccably made, clearly transcends its village status, Premier Cru level easily, and the price on the secondary market more than reflects this. Amazingly drinkable now, twenty years in it.
