Flight 1 (5 notes)

White - Sparkling
N.V. Vazart-Coquart Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
89 points
Just slightly oxidative with citrus and acid.
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Marc Hébrart Champagne Premier Cru Brut Rosé France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru
93 points
This champagne is a head-turner, especially considering the price and it's NV moniker. Floral, strawberry, minerals, bread dough.
White
2015 Brewer-Clifton Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills USA, California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills
90 points
There is good acidity to this and slight oak. Overall, it is relatively elegant for California. Towards that end, the palate is slightly thin.
White
2014 Arnot-Roberts Chardonnay Trout Gulch Vineyard USA, California, Santa Cruz Mountains
91 points
This is a very different chardonnay. While this wine is impressive in it's flavor profile, it isn't that friendly to me. There is significant sulfur, briny minerality and racy acidity. This is for acid heads.
White
2011 Domaine Serene Chardonnay Evenstad Reserve USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills
91 points
Apricot, high minerality, slightly tart, slight caramel on the finish. Overall, this does drink like an older chardonnay, with good complexity. Unfortunately, the sharp vanilla stands out a little too much, and seems out of place as this wine is not that rich. Nonetheless, this was fun to drink and interesting in the complex flavors/aromas.

Flight 2 (6 notes)

Red
2001 Daniel Moine-Hudelot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
88 points
This wine seemed a little too smooth and mellow for me. There was a touch of iron and some red fruit.
Red
2007 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanée France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée
90 points
Iron and rocky minerality dominates, with enough elegant fruit to make it work.
Red
2014 Trisaetum Pinot Noir Wichmann Dundee Estate USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
92 points
Balanced nose of earth and minerality. I'm surprised this youngster is drinking so well already, although it is clearly well-fruited. It would be cool to try this in 3-5 years.
Red
2012 Cornerstone Cellars Pinot Noir USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
Big, spicy, extracted, ripe, modern Oregon style. Not my thing. Unscored.
Red
2012 St. Innocent Pinot Noir Justice Vineyard USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills
92 points
I agree with ROCKNROLLER, 92 to 93. Light cherry, lots of earth, acid, tar, smoky, delightful.

Red
1994 Staglin Family Cabernet Sauvignon Estate USA, California, Napa Valley, Rutherford
92 points
The palate is kind of musty, slightly stewed fruit, touch of anise, a bit madirized, interesting, curious, tastes old. That's what I wrote, but I also scored it 92, so I must have meant that in a good way. :)
