Flight 1 (8 notes)

Red
2017 Yves Boyer-Martenot Pommard France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard
Nice sweet red cherry fruit. Very fresh with wild strawberry. An elegant, almost Volnay-styled Pommard. Good acidity; very good depth on a clean finish.
White
2016 Yves Boyer-Martenot Bourgogne-Aligoté France, Burgundy, Bourgogne-Aligoté
Very clean. A touch of oak, but not so much to cover up the salinity I always expect. Nice wine; great price!
White
2016 Boyer-Martenot Bourgogne Blanc France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc
Very clean, with a touch of oak. Great acidity; lemon, sour apple. Soft finish with a touch of tang.
White
2016 Yves Boyer-Martenot Meursault Les Charrons France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
Also very clean on the nose and palate; visible oak, maybe slightly less Meursault character than I would like, but enough to get me to buy a bottle to drink later. Good density and mouthfeel, excellent acidity.
White
2016 Yves Boyer-Martenot Meursault 1er Cru Charmes France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Gorgeous nose with good density. Loads of sweet lemon, vanilla oak. On the palate, great minerality balances the richness on the nose; this has character and great acidity. Very clean and linear finsh.
White
2016 Yves Boyer-Martenot Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Very smoky nose with loads of sweet lemon and visible oak. Balanced on the palate, with fantastic acidity and real minerality: wet stone, but also sweet lemon curd with vanilla. A touch of heat on the finish, which is otherwise nice.
White
2016 Yves Boyer-Martenot Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Amazing minerality (love it!) with sweet lemon. Great acidity; a touch warm on the finish with some oak, but this is what I love about Meursault.
White
2016 Yves Boyer-Martenot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Le Cailleret France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Much richer than the previous wines, but holds it all together really well. Very clean nose with loads of sweet apple, and meyer lemon butter. Clean palate, lemon oil; good acidity. Very round on the palate with great length and a very clean finish. Yum.
