Flight 1 (1 note)

White
2012 Joh. Jos. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
*** brief notes from and for my memory, no rating ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
From Magnum. Perfect Summer wine. Still youthful, classic Mosel Kabinett, light as a feather and with a nice combination of residual sugar and acidity. Good tension and length. Has a decade ahead. 90-91

White
1986 Von Schubert Maximin Grünhäuser Abtsberg Riesling Spätlese trocken Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Glass: Gabriel Standard
From Magnum. Perfect fill level. Unfortunately oxidized ☹
White
2016 Koehler-Ruprecht Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Auslese trocken Germany, Pfalz
*** brief notes from and for my memory, no rating ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Had this at the winery a year ago and was flashed. Tonight, it was not as exciting as I remember, but maybe it was just me. Nevertheless, a great wine in the making! It has all it needs: acidity, extract, mineral core, depth. Needs 10+ years to fully blossom, but then it could well reach the 95+ range. At the moment, enjoyable 91-93.

Flight 3 (1 note)

White - Off-dry
2004 Zilliken (Forstmeister Geltz) Saarburger Rausch Riesling Spätlese Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
*** brief notes from and for my memory, no rating ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Beautiful classic Saar Spätlese. Very joyful, now at its full peak with no hurry at all. Good balance and length. 91-92

Flight 4 (1 note)

White - Off-dry
1997 Zilliken (Forstmeister Geltz) Saarburger Rausch Riesling Auslese #9 Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
*** brief notes from and for my memory, no rating ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured, AP#9. Very youthful bottle without the classic Zilliken notes of Petrol and peat. Pure Mango fruit juice. Very delicious, but also a bit one-dimensional. Lacks tension, complexity and length. But again: Extremly delicious! 90-92

Flight 5 (1 note)

White - Sweet/Dessert
1993 Dr. Heinz Wagner Saarburger Rausch Riesling Auslese *** Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
*** brief notes from and for my memory, no rating ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Not as good as my previous bottle. Already a bit past peak, but still very enjoyable. Complex nose and palate with yellow fruit, herbs, slate, petrol. Acidity was well integrated. Needed air to fully blossom. Long finish. 91-92

Flight 6 (1 note)

White
2007 Weingut Keller Westhofener Kirchspiel Riesling Grosse Lage-R- Germany, Rheinhessen
*** brief notes from and for my memory, no rating ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. See my previous notes for details to this wine. It lacks precision and energy of the regular Kirchspiel. The residual sugar makes it a bit chubby. I hope it gets better with time, but I am not sure. 89-90

Flight 7 (1 note)

White
2014 Egon Müller Riesling QbA Scharzhof Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
*** brief notes from and for my memory, no rating ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. Hmm, the label says Egon Müller and Scharzhof, but at least this vintage is far away of reaching the classiness of the real Scharzhofberger Kabinett. Quite simple and one-dimensional for this estate. Nevertheless a joyful, easy drinking wine, but with a bad PQR. 87-89

White - Sparkling
2004 Bollinger Champagne R.D. Extra Brut France, Champagne
*** brief notes from and for my memory, no rating ***
Glass: Gabriel Standard
Popped and poured. From Magnum. Good Champagne, but lacks for me the tension and excitement of real great ones. 90-91
