Butternut canned wines

Introduction

I don't have anything against canned wines, but I wasn't a huge fan of these. Some were better than others, though, and I see why they're a big hit.

Flight 1 (4 notes)

White
2017 Miller Family Wine Company Chardonnay Butternut USA, California
82 points
Creamy yellow and green apples, pineapple chunks, with some nutty, honeyed notes. Juicy and tropical with medium-low acidity. Refreshing, fun, simple but crowd-pleasing stuff. From can.
Rosé
2017 Miller Family Wine Company Butternut USA, California, Central Coast
81 points
Nose shows some white cherries, strawberries and wildflowers. Crisp and zesty on the palate with fresh acidity on a medium-bodied frame. Notes of floral stems, cucumber water and mint mix with white cherry and watermelon rind. Simple, fun, a bit of an austere edge but fun. Tempranillo wand Syrah.
Rosé - Sparkling
2017 Miller Family Wine Company Butternut Sparkling Rosé USA, California, Central Coast
82 points
Very pale copper color. Aromas of lemongrass, mint and white cherry. Medium-bodied with faint bubbles and flavors of white cherries and watermelon rind. Notes of spicy pepper, mint and celery seed. Fun, simple, spritzy stuff. All Tempranillo. From can.
Red
2017 Miller Family Wine Company Pinot Noir Butternut USA, California
75 points
Cherry pits, rose potpourri, cinnamon candy. Punchy but acerbic, with strawberry candy and sweet, baked, blueberry juice notes. Weird. From can.
