Clear red with a garnet rim. In the bouquet licorice and dark berries and something like wet carton. Corked I suppose.

Still deep dark and almost purple. Earthy and creamy bouquet. Still a lot of sticky tannin. Cassis and liquorice. Round and full bodied. Very firm tannin. The wine is still not giving itself completely. Will never be a wine with great finesse, but being so youthful and harmonious after 17 years is certainly a great accomplishment.
Red
1970 Château Croix de Thomas France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Georges-St. Émilion
84 points
Very mature and a bit alcoholic bouquet. Hardly any tannin left. Still juicy. A bit of sweetness. A friendly and tasteful wine. Drink NOW!
Red
1980 Château Cantenac Brown France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

Attractive fruity bouquet with oak and butter. Ok tannin that is soft as well as still a little sticky. Pleasant acidity. Sweet liquorice. Not very full bodied. Can wait for a few more years.
