7up up front, with a bright, pleasantly bitter finish. Uncomplicated but delicious. A pleasant surprise coming from Banfi.
White
2016 Monchiero Carbone Roero Arneis Recit Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Roero
88 points
Nice balance between lush fruit and fresh acidity. Overall a good Arneis for the price.
Red
2017 Marziano Abbona Dogliani San Luigi Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Dogliani

Fresh cherry fruit, some earthy and savory notes, bitter almond on the finish. A fun, clean and fresh wine. Perfect for pizza, pasta, and maybe even Thanksgiving.

2014 Michele Chiarlo Langhe Nebbiolo Il Principe Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC

Red
2015 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Barbera d'Asti Cà di Pian Italy, Piedmont, Asti, Barbera d'Asti
This is going for a style of Barbera that is bigger and bolder than what I typically associate with the grape. As such I feel like it needs more time to really show its personality... not without charm now but another 5 on its site may pay dividends.
Red
2014 Damilano Barolo Lecinquevigne Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo

Decanted about 4h. Surprisingly soft and elegant at this point... perhaps drinking more like a barbaresco, at least stereotypically. A little simple for the price, but certainly tasty. Definitely drinkable now, esp. w/ food.
