White - Sparkling
N.V. Sommariva Prosecco di Conegliano Brut Italy, Veneto, Prosecco di Conegliano
85 points
Sweet, fresh slightly tannic and a decent value at $13. Nothing spectacular or complicated just bubbles
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Sommariva Venezia il Rosa Brut Italy, Veneto, Venezia
87 points
Saw this last year and this batch is equally nice. More depth of flavor than the Prosecco fresh easy finish. Nice value at $13
White
2018 André et Michel Quenard Vin de Savoie Chignin Vieilles Vignes France, Savoie, Vin de Savoie Chignin
Very neutral dry white for only $21, pass.

2018 Denis Jamain Reuilly Les Pierres Plates Blanc France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Reuilly

Expressive and very supple Sauvignon Blanc, as supple as nice Chablis with viscosity and balance. Great linger. Into the cellar for this one. Nice value also.

2018 Château La Roque Languedoc Blanc France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc

I really wanted to love this wine the aromatics were great, but it is so flat in the mouth. I would never drink more than a glass, and that would be out of courtesy, it is not bad just not interesting to me.

2018 Domaine de Fontsainte Corbières France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Corbières

First vintage in a long time I have not added this to my cellar. The wine is clean, intense and bold, a nose of butter and berries. My turnoff is the slightly overripe note, with a sweetness and heady alcohol 14.5%. I will retaste in the spring, but if this is the future I will look elsewhere.

2017 Bricco Carlina Langhe Nebbiolo Volubile Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC
85 points
Cranberry nose, very light color, tons of tannin in the mouth. Interesting but way too tannic for me.
Red
2018 Guido Porro Dolcetto d'Alba V. Pari Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba
89 points
New label and new style, much cleaner and fruit driven. Still has good body and lovely finish, but overall the intensity and purity of the flavor was impressive. 13.5% alcohol

Will add a picture of the new label soon.

2018 Guido Porro Barbera d'Alba Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Barbera d'Alba
88 points
Consistant with the 2018 Dolcetto the winemaking style of this wine is much cleaner and more focused. 14% alcohol is a bit high but the wine is musher cleaner
Red
2017 Birichino Zinfandel Saint Georges Old Vines USA, California, Central Coast
88 points
Classic old style with lighter color and good spice, black pepper, black tea, hint of jammy fruit. Dry and 14.5% alcohol quite drinkable.

Really liked this and compared to the overpriced Bourgogne I tasted recently this is far superior, unfortunately similar pricing at $30, but you get what you pay for. Lovely nose, expressive and distinct, lighter texture but an excellent linger.

2017 Domaine Faury St. Joseph La Gloriette Vieilles Vignes France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, St. Joseph

$46 a bottle, really excellent, very torn about adding to the cellar, one of best I have tasted. So much wine so little time, I passed with many second thoughts.

One reason is that I have not had good experience aging this producer, sooner or later Brett creeps in but would it this vintage?
