Pommard

Flight 1 (5 notes)
Red
2017 Domaine de Courcel Bourgogne
A serious and intense nose. Good density and structure on the palate. A bit chunky today, but should come together. Good value if you like a little more heft in your Bourgogne. 86-88

Red
2017 Domaine de Courcel Pommard Les Vaumuriens
A step up in aromatic intensity. So much structure on the palate. Showing quite austere now. So much power for a village wine. Needs 10-15 years to soften. 88-89
Red
2017 Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru Grand Clos des Épenots
Dense, brooding and rich nose. Wow, so much power and concentration. Rich black fruit with plenty of flesh. Firm structure shows in the finish. Needs 15-20 years. 90-92+
Red
2017 Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens
Dense and rich aromatics, similar to the Grand Clos des Epenots, with a touch more open red fruit. Intense spice to the fruit which is actually reasonably/relatively round and approachable when compared to the rest of the line up. Long finish. This is surely going to shut down. Needs 15-20 years. 91-93
White
2017 Domaine de Courcel Bourgogne Blanc
Pleasant and refreshing melon and florals. Nice expressive minerality and good length. A solid Bourgogne. 85-87
