A line up of rose wines to try from Thymiopoulos Vineyards, all bottles brought straight from the cellars of the winery.

2010 Thymiopoulos Rosé de Xinomavro

Sampled at Oinoscent, magnum bottle brought straight from the winery.
The color is very clear and bright onion red.
The nose and palate is dominated by preserved cherry tomato, very ripe cherry, strawberry, honey and syrup, medium intensity, nice mouthfeel, low acidity, medium finish.
This bottle was kept in the cellar for expertimeting and educational purposes. The fact that the wine shows no sign of oxidation is a great evidence of the outstanding quality of this label. Really well done.

The wine feels rounder and more ready compared to the 2018, the same flavour profile, preserved cherry tomato, ripe red berry and floral notes.
In the palate, the wube is very impressive, high acidity, ripe red fruit, floral again, medium body, medium to long finish.
Outstanding quality, this could be very interesting for food pairing.

The wine shows high intensity of small berries red fruits, cherry tomato, some tannins and high acidity, its a bit hard to drink now, medium body and finish.
Very good quality, it will get better with time.

2007 Thymiopoulos Rosé de Xinomavro (Late Release)

Sampled at Oinoscent, bottle brought straight from the winery.
The wine shows high intensity or aromas while standing on the extremes side of the flavour spectrum, nutty, oxidative and almost like a Flanders Oud Bruin ale, a thin oak frame, ripe and dried red cherry and earthy notes.
In the palate, the wine shows ripe red fruit, high acidity, the oak is more upfront here and the fruit in the back, medium body, still holding its tannins, long finish.
Outstanding quality. If you like these types of geeky wines, then you have to ask yourself, Vina Tondonia who ???

The wine shows medium intensity in the nose, ripe red and black berries, currant, it has a heavier floral note too, tomato paste, a bit of alcohol heat, framboise and pomegranate.
In the palate, the wien shows high intensity, pomegranate, a lot of tannins, medium to high acidity, cherries, its still very fresh, medium body, a few tomato notes and a slight herbal nuance, long finish.
This bottle was better than the one tried before, maybe due to better provenance, needs food
