Flight 1 (1 note)

White
2010 Schäfer-Fröhlich Monzinger Halenberg Riesling Großes Gewächs Germany, Nahe
92 points
Glass: Zalto Universal
Drunk over three days. Clear, medium golden color. Clean, medium intense, developing nose. Mellow apple, slightly oxidative notes, yellow sweet fruit, smoky mineral notes, some herbs. Very deep and quite complex.
Dry, medium+ acidity, well integrated. 13% abv. Very mineral! Salty crushed stones everywhere, mellow apple, smoky notes. Very deep, very good balance, grip and tension. Long. Would say it started to reach its peak, but will stay there for at least 3-5+ years. Beautiful! 92-93

Flight 2 (1 note)

White
2007 Domaine Rémi Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Le Poruzot-Dessus France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
92 points
Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
Tasted blind. Popped and poured, drunk over two days. Clear, medium golden color. Clean, medium+ developing nose. Some reductive notes, fine oak, white blossoms, fine pear. Very fresh and beautiful.
Dry, medium+, well integrated acidity. 13,5% abv, barely noticeable. Fine, medium tannin structure. Very mineral, ripe, juicy pear and yellow fruit, beautiful fine oak as a backbone. Great pressure! Good density and balance, very juicy. Long. No hurry to drink, might probably get even better with some more time. 91-92+

Flight 3 (1 note)

White
2012 Domaine de la Grange des Pères Vin de Pays de l'Hérault Blanc France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Vin de Pays de l'Hérault
92 points
Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
Popped and poured, drunk over two days. Clear, medium golden color. Clean, medium intense, youthful-developing nose. Ripe citrus nose, some reductive notes with gun powder and popcorn, very mineral, pear. Very dense, deep and complex.
Dry, medium- acidity, which is my biggest “complaint” here. It (the lack of) makes the wine a bit “soapy”. 13,5% abv very well integrated. Reductive and mineral notes, nice pear, hints of citrus, very spicy, oak as a barely noticeable structure. Very dense and deep, good extract. Good balance, at the edge of being broad/fat. Good grip. Good length. Still young. Potential? I can’t tell. Really good wine, but the PQR isn’t good for me considering the price tag. 92-93

Flight 4 (2 notes)

Red
2017 Weingut Leipold Pinot Noir Trocken Germany, Franken
89 points
Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
Tasted blind. Popped and poured, drunk over two days. Clear, medium garnet color.
Clean, medium+ intense, youthful nose, easily detectable as German Pinot. Lots of cherries, strawberry, herbs, menthol, tobacco, some oak. Airy, complex and really nice!
Dry, medium+/high acidity, almost racy and well-integrated. Fine, medium+ tannin. Fine red fruit on the palate, herbs, some fine vanilla. Very juicy! Good balance, oak is well integrated. This wine makes a lot of fun now! Very joyful. Great PQR for 17 EUR!!! Will it age well? Don’t know and for this price tag I don’t care. Serious crowd pleaser. 88-89+
Red
2018 Weingut Keller Spätburgunder Trocken 'S' Germany, Rheinhessen
90 points
Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
Popped and poured, drunk over ten days. Clear, medium ruby color. Clean, youthful and cool nose with lots of sour cherries, fine sweet red fruit and some lactic notes. Needs time and air to unfold.
Dry, medium+/high acidity which surprised me for this warm vintage. Fine, medium+ tannin. 12,5% abv. Lots of sour cherries on the palate, well-integrated oak. It has power, good balance, nice structure and density. Needs time and air and did not decline, even on day ten. Never broad or warm, rather cool impression. Long, fine finish. Potential for at least 5+ years. Good PQR. 90-91+

Red
2009 Quinta Vale D. Maria Douro C.V. ("Curriculum Vitae") Portugal, Douro
91 points
Glass: Riedel Vinum Syrah
Nothing more to add to my detailed note from 2017, except that I don’t know what do to with these extract monster anymore. Serious wine, very well made, but I don’t like this style anymore. 91-92

Flight 7 (1 note)

White - Off-dry
1975 Von Schubert Maximin Grünhäuser Abtsberg Riesling Spätlese Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
94 points
Glass: Zalto Universal
Drunk over three days. Perfect fill level and cork. Clear, incredible pale golden color that looked like a 2015 Riesling. Amazing!
Clean, medium+ developing nose that needed air to open up. Ripe Amalfi citrus, cassis, some slight petrol. Beautiful fresh and dense.
All the sweetness has blended in with time, so the wine is more off-dry. Medium+ tart acidity, very well integrated. On the palate fresh citrus, very mineral, elder flower and cassis. So fresh, lean and young! Beautiful balance, joyful to drink. Medium+/long juicy finish. This particular body would have last for another decade. Such a beautiful surprise and wonderful experience. 92 for the wine and 2 more for the condition and me being a fanboy 😊.

White - Off-dry
2001 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel Germany, Nahe
93 points
Glass: Zalto Universal
Tasted blind. Drunk over three days. From half bottle. Clear, medium golden color. Beautiful Riesling Auslese from Dönnhoff, that lacks a bit of tension and energy. Not as good as my last bottle. Very deep and complex, very long and almost immortal, but this one lacked a bit of acidity, which made it a bit sticky. Nevertheless a wonderful wine with potential for some more decades. 92-93
