Introduction

We cannot travel in person... we use wines to travel the world

Flight 1 (5 notes)

White - Sparkling
N.V. Vinaria Bostavan DOR Brut Moldova, Oneti
flawed
A bit corked.
Golden yellow, with fine and persistent perlage.
Fresh, citrusy at nose with bread, yeast notes.
Dry, nice subtle perlage to the palate, for a smooth, yet crispy sip.
Cork evident at taste...:-(
White
2017 Robertson Winery Chardonnay Number One Constitution Road South Africa, Breede River Valley, Robertson
85 points
Brilliant light gold.
After an important breath of banana, vanilla and sage come to the nose, with a mineral background.
Dry, good acidity and very smooth. Alcohol evident. Wood's buttery sweetness is well balanced by an important minerality. Closing on sweet vanilla notes. Not an easy summer sip.
White
2016 Robert Mondavi Winery Fumé Blanc USA, California, Napa Valley
Brilliant straw yellow.
Extremely intense at nose, with hints of boxus, sage and grafite being overshadowed by a powerful fumè /oil smell.
Coherent at taste, with the fumè footprint covering all the wine's shades. Not my wine.
White
2012 Château d'Arlay Côtes du Jura Blanc Tradition France, Jura, Côtes du Jura
82 points
Brilliant gold.
Butter and vanilla give a pleasent start. A champagne-like nose, but without perlage.
At taste showing a medium body, making alcohol too evident. Good minerality, but declining freshness.
Red
2017 Aranjuez Terruño Bolivia, Tarija
84 points
Ruby red, with a dense, slow tearing.
Pleasent wine, with a flowery nose (red roses) and a smooth palate. Well educated tannins, but medium acidity (due to high altitude).
