Double blind, drinking much better than I’d expect from the producer. Lots of apple with very good richness and depth, with the brightness of the vintage coming through clearly.

2017 Domaine Darviot-Perrin Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières
flawed
Double blind, massively reduced on nose and palate, then very tart finish.

Double blind. Very rich with plenty of apple, good+ weight for its level. Very good now with fun, minerally finish.
Red
2010 Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Hauts-Doix
flawed
Double blind. Poor storage, this is a shadow of the brilliant bottle from last week.
Red
2010 Paul Lato Pinot Noir The Prospect Sierra Madre Vineyard
Double blind. Seemed clearly New World Pinot to me, others thought Cab Franc. Jammy and juicy with some warm and bitter notes, this seemed much younger and frankly uninteresting to me.

2015 Jean-François Ganevat Côtes du Jura Cuvée Julien

Double blind, seemed so old and tired with fully mature and tart red cherry and much more earth. Very uninteresting to me.

Double blind, rich and floral with very good spice and depth. Good weight. Very charming red cherry and berry start-to-finish.

2009 AR.PE.PE. Valtellina Superiore - Grumello Riserva

Double blind, I thought Volnay Village level. Red cherry and berry with charming floral notes and charming brightness and elegance, even if medium+ weight. Very good now, but will hold 5+ years.
Red
2002 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers
90 points
Double blind, clearly Burgundy with some age. Mature red cherry with spice made me think Vosne 1er Cru. Elegant and nicely balanced. Bottle had been opened and divided into 6 pours 8 hours earlier, which might have helped. Or hurt.
Red
1999 Paolo Bea Montefalco Sagrantino Secco
An eccentric wine that I can easily understand both loving and hating. Old school character throughout with very mature red cherry with a tart, vinegary character that is bright but ultra tart. Meaty and earthy and very complex, but lacking brightness that many of us want in a great wine.
Red
1994 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle
90 points
Opened and divided three hours before tasting. Lots of black cherry with meaty character and very savory spice. Wonderfully fresh both for its age and the poor vintage, this is drinking very well now, and showing no signs of decline.
