Vertical Tasting of Colene Clemens Adriane Pinot Noir

Boulder, Colorado

Tasted April 3, 2021 by brouigu1 with 21 views

Introduction

A tasting at a clients request who is also a Pinot Noir Enthusiast. Being a fan of Colene Clemens, a small craft producer we did an informal vertical tasting (more enjoying) of the Adriane Pinot Noir that including the vintages of 2014, 2016 and 2016.

Closing

These are all great Pinot Noir’s and they share some very similar characteristics such as the Chehalem Mountains AVA and all reared in a warmer growing season. All 3 vintages exhibit the purity of the fruit while the 2014 is showing some signs of age maturity that made this quite tasty. In contrast the 2015 & 2016 are still presenting bright red fruits with waves of fruit spice and oak imparted spices. All of these wines are very approachable now but could easily being cellared for several more years where I am sure patience is rewarded.
