Tasted June 11, 2010 by Omar Khayyam with 27 views

Flight 1 (6 notes)

Red
2007 Domaine Aleth Girardin Bourgogne France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
Quite expressive, a lot of acidity, long and lean. Red fruited. 85-86 Good everyday wine for under 8 euro in 2010.
Red
2007 Domaine Aleth Girardin Pommard Les Vignots France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard
Blackberries and cherries. Elegant and long. Perhaps a bit on the lean side. 87-88
Red
2007 Domaine Aleth Girardin Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru
Fine and elegant with good grip. Maybe would not cellar this forever. 90
Red
2007 Domaine Aleth Girardin Pommard 1er Cru Les Charmots France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru
Darker profile than the Bourgogne rouge, les vignots and clos de mouche. More on the underbrush, wet soil aromas here. I preferred the Clos de Mouche slightly. 89
Red
2007 Domaine Aleth Girardin Pommard 1er Cru Les Épenots France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru
Mix of Grands Epenots and Petits Epenots. Here there is some black and red fruit and licorice. Good grip. 91
Red
2007 Domaine Aleth Girardin Pommard 1er Cru Rugiens-Bas France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pommard 1er Cru
This stood out compared to the other wines in the line up - simply delish - absolutely velvety and elegant but also a rustic profile, lots of complexity and long finish. 93-95

Closing

Uneven line up with the top wines really really delish and the mid gamme closer to the basic line up.
