Yeah, all PYCM wines taste kind of the same and this one also shows very clearly the house style. Opulent and incredibly rich, broad, and oaky, this also has a really good kick of acidity on the back end to balance things out. The oak shows fairly prominently but it's not astringent; you get more of a lactone thing instead of any bitterness. Slightly waxy texture that is either the producer style or the village.

Fantastic stuff if a little off the beaten path. I love when white wines drink like reds, and this bottle is definitely that. It's lithe and shapely and there is just a very slight hint of oxidation here, but at the same time this is so incredibly fresh and bright. Paired with Jaleo's tortilla (and bonus iberian ham on top), this was absolutely brilliant. Kind of like they were almost made for each other...

Probably my favourite of the 2008-2009-2010 releases (or maybe it just pairs really well with the food), this has a significant fruitiness that I really like. It drinks very easily, like one of those mindless roses, thanks to that hint of sweetness from the fruit, but the complexity is obviously there if you choose to look for it. It's a bit of a shame that this is so culty (and I'll admit that it's sometimes a little tricky to find something to eat when this is opened), but when you do it right, this wine is magical.

I have long been confounded by dry sherry, but I think I'm slowly starting to "get" it. The nose here is a myriad array of maple, tamarind, tangerine peel, Christmas spice, brown sugar, rancio and so many other things; it's mesmerizing in and of itself. The palate carries through on all of these flavours and has the same kaleidoscopic effect. I love the oxidation but crazy fresh acidity as well. Not much of an alcoholic kick here either; this is a lovely sort of sherry to have with food.
