I've had a few of these in the past year or so and it continues to delight. Its oxidative character is very much in balance - nutty with an almost soapy feel on the finish.

First time i've tasted this alongside its older sibling. Oddly more vibrant on the nose, in spite of having been served a few degrees colder. A real vibrancy and tightness here - lovely stuff. Just a hint of something - maybe liquorice? - in the finish. Very pleased to have a few more of these in storage.

Colour - some bricking, some cloudiness. On the nose - as RZ points out, dusty tobacco notes, clearly mature. A gentle wine - fully mature at this stage,

This has almost become my reference wine at this stage. Never fails to delight. Consistently superb - and fully ready to drink now. Just edged it to be my WOTN - although I could just have easily chosen the Tondo 05.

Lovely stuff. Not quite up there with the 01 but a lovely drink.

In spite of owning a few bottles, not drunk a great deal of red Tondonia in the past. This was a bit of an eye opener. Real dense core to it, acidity but also tar - this is just starting to show what it can offer. I voted for the 01 Ardanza as WOTN but could just have easily chosen this.

Perfectly lovely - didn't show the 03 characteristics I feared. No need to hold onto these, but drinking perfectly well just now.

Showed well! I understand this was a weak vintage in Rioja, and maybe will be drinking earlier than grander vintages - this is just starting to be enjoyable now but I think with another year or two will be in an even better place.
