White - Sparkling
N.V. A. Lamblot Champagne Frénésie France, Champagne
Third bottle in past 4 months, and I tell you, this stuff is the real deal good. Disgorged September 2020, 100% PM, no dosage. Lightly bronze in color. Honeysuckle aroma, along with citrus blossom and slate. The palate is infused with plenty of flavor. Stone fruits of nectarine and peach, along with apple. The structure is what also fires me up, with an impression of wet stone and lemon peel acidity. Excellent complexity, with a concentrated profile and stony finish. This wine is on my radar for more.

White - Sparkling
2017 Jérôme Prévost Champagne La Closerie Extra Brut Les Beguines France, Champagne
This had some interesting aromatics. At first a toffee/caramel thing, and I wondered it the wine was older? Also some wood aroma, that also infuses into the wine's finish, like an old barrique. Lemon, citrus, ginger with some zesty acidity but paired next to the NV Lamblot Frenesie, that wine for me beat this Prevost for both complexity and integration.

White - Sparkling
N.V. Alexandre Filaine Champagne Cuvée DMY France, Champagne
Not sure of the disgorgement info. 45% PN, 35% Chard, 20% PM. Golden apple, black cherry and some edges that seemed honeyed to me (has 4 grams of dosage). Finishes with a note of lemon hard candy, Overall, this is richer and more forward in tone.

White - Sparkling
N.V. Georges Laval Champagne Premier Cru Brut Nature Cumières France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru
This was the 2018 base, disgorged August 2020. No dosage, 45% PN, 45% Chard, 10% PM. This showed a hint of blush color, just enough to tinge it. Red fruit, mainly strawberry with raspberry, along with a cool cinnamon note (that Todd first called out to the group round the table). I sensed it too once he made the remark, and then later can find the same note in the finish. Balanced with a great texture, finishing bright and clean.

Rosé - Sparkling
2008 Jacquesson & Fils Champagne Dizy Terres Rouges Rosé France, Champagne
Disgorged February 2014 with 3.5 grams of dosage. 55% PN / 45% Chard. The color on this is a darker ruby, reminiscent of the previous bottles we have opened. Red fruits, lightly jammy. I used to buy this wine but I just didn't believe the pricing was aligned well with what was under the cork. This is good but it never seems to wow me.

Rosé - Sparkling
2008 Billecart-Salmon Champagne Cuvée Elisabeth Salmon France, Champagne
This was good and seemed to be well-received around the table. Peach color, akin to both Vilmart Emotion and Larmandier-Bernier Maturation. Floral. Gentle red fruits along with stone fruit and green apple. Delicate and flavorful.
