Flight 1 (2 notes)

Red
2016 Eugenio Bocchino Langhe Suo Di Giacomo Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC
92 points
Drunk over two days. Completely different from the bottle I had a few month ago. It really needs time and air. Very elegant and fruity nose. On the palate also very fine and elegant and never rustic/raw. High acidity and tannin. Beautiful red fruit, salty, herbaceous Nebiolo with a great upscale potential. 92++
White
2004 Trimbach Riesling Cuvée Frédéric Emile France, Alsace
94 points
Drunk over two days. Clear, pale, youthful golden color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose. Lots of salt, yellow stone fruit, petrol and crushed stones. Very dense, deep and complex. Beautiful perfume!
Bone dry, medium+ acidity, perfectly integrated. Only 12,5% abv. Lots of salt, chalky mineral notes, some oak, yellow stone fruit, herbs (sage) and nice petrol notes. What a tension and grip! Combined with great pressure, extract and density. Very lean and precise body. Everything is wonderfully balanced and the wine has also a beautiful juiciness. Long, salty, mineral finish. Potential for another decade. Needs air and time. 94

Flight 2 (3 notes)

2004 Willi Schaefer Graacher Domprobst Riesling Spätlese #10 Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer

Popped and poured. Almost perfect bottle! Mosel Spätlese at its best. Fresh and refreshing. Perfect balance and harmony, lots of ripe fruit, great mineral core, high acidity, only 7,5% abv. Pure elegance. Potential for at least another decade. 94-95

Red
2019 Davaz Pinot Noir Grond Switzerland, Eastern Switzerland, Graubünden, Fläsch
92 points
Popped and poured. Tasted blind. Deep ruby color. Nice nose, clearly identifiable as a German or Swiss Pinot with some noticeable vanilla and strawberries. On the palate powerful, but also very balanced. Lots of fine red fruit, some noticeable vanilla, but not much oak. Drinks nicely now, but has further upscale potential for 5+ year. 91-92 Good PQR.
Red
2018 Philippe Gavignet Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Clos de l'Hermitage France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits
89 points
Popped and poured. Tasted blind. Powerful and bold Pinot. Very fruity and creamy. Drinks well now, but gains probably some more complexity and elegance in 3-5+ years. 89+

Flight 3 (2 notes)

2018 Marco Beltramo Pinerolese La Madre - Black Label Italy, Piedmont, Pinerolese
89 points
Popped and poured, drunk over two days. Deep ruby color, lots of CO2 on day one. Very fruity, not as elegant as the Bocchino, but very pleasant and joyful. 14,5% abv wonderful integrated. Deep and dense, good length. Potential for 3-5+ years. 88-89
White
2018 Weingut Keller Riesling von der Fels Germany, Rheinhessen
91 points
Popped and poured, drunk over two days. Pale golden color. Lots of fresh lemon, citrus and green apple. On day one barely drinkable, high acidity, lots of lemon. On day two much better and more balanced. Great mineral core, beautiful depth and tension. Needs a few more years to fully shine, but it will for sure gain more balance and complexity. 91++

Flight 6 (1 note)

Red
2006 Hans Erich Dausch Pinot Noir HE the gurus Germany, Pfalz
94 points
Popped and poured, drunk over two days. My first HE. Yes, this is German Pinot. But at the very top range and end. Lots of fine red fruit and herbs. No oak, just a wonderful texture and structure. Still very youthful and full of energy and tension. Beautiful fine tannin, high, well integrated acidity. Wonderful balance. Long and lingering finish. This is one of the best Pinots from Germany I have tasted so far. 94-95
