Introduction
Weeeeeeelllllllllll it's been a long time since my last pop at this thanks to various challenges (including Covid and holidays) but I've finally got here. I spent a lovely few hours with Jordan as we meandered around tasting a shed load of rieslings

2020 Chateau Ste. Michelle Ethos Late Harvest White Riesling
lime and orange marmalade, slight apricot, vanilla, creamy, tiny touch of wood glue. Sweet spice. Juicy to medium plus intensity acidity isn't enough for the sweetness. Lime marmalade, very young. Hmm.

Wood glue, toffee, caramel, burnt sugar all over slight lime fruit. Medium plus acidity, luscious sweetness, more dried fruit on the palate, tangy. Medium plus length. Nah.

2019 August Eser Oestricher Doosberg Riesling Auslese
medium minus intensity aromas of sulphur, muted fruit shows a little apple and baking spice. Medium plus intensity acidity is nicely balanced the residual sugar. Again slight muted apple on the palate but travels longish. Hmm.

Peach and apple, a little sulphur with a lime and lime peel underpin. Bone dry, hard and ungenerous on the palate, the lime peel in the ascendancy. Nah.

Medium minus intensity of slightly dusty peach, a little savoury spice, sulphur, green apple. Dry, juicy, quite textured, drying grip on the mid palate, lacks fruit. Meh.

Apricot and dried apricot, sulphur prickle, a little red apple, wet slate. Dry, tangy, fruit is slightly muted on the palate with a little non-intrusive alcohol warmth and a touch of texture. Hmm.

Waxy, floral, a little stone fruit and green apple with a touch of lemon underpin. Slight stony minerality. Tangy, juicy, fleshy, fruit just about sufficiently present to make things interesting, a little texture. Long. Okay.

Mineral, slightly meaty, gamey, a little green apple and mandarin & mandarin peel. Medium plus intensity acidity with a touch of residual sugar to offset and some tiny textured grip, fruit slightly muted but otherwise pleasant.

Lime, lime pith & peel, a little green notes here as well as some slaty minerality. On the palate it's sourly juicy and, again, presents as a touch unripe. Lacks generosity. Nah.

Medium minus intensity aromas of sulphur, lime, a little apple, slight savoury underpin. Fleshy, smidge of residual sugar (?), plenty of texture, citrus or orchard, a little sulphur. Medium plus length, balanced though. Okay.

Meaty, savoury, mineral over orchard fruit, apple and a touch of pear, sulphur, also smidge of kumquat, interesting nose. Medium plus intensity acidity lends tanginess to the palate, fruit and savoury elements present, touch of textured, finishes a little warm and a bitter though. Hmm

2021 Rabl Riesling Alte Reben Ried Schenkenbichl
Green apple, sulphur prickle, slightly rocky minerality. A little residual sugar provides a touch of sweetness to the muted fruit, chalky mineral texture. Hmm.

2021 Chateau Ste. Michelle & Dr. Loosen Riesling Eroica
Slightly savoury, meaty, sulphur prickle, an almost biscuit note accompanies green apple. In the mouth it's tangy and juicy, residual sugar offsets the acid, apple fruit, simple, long, nice.

2020 Pierre Sparr Riesling Grande Réserve
Peachy, slightly waxy, a little baking spice, over orange. Softly juicy, alcohol warmth intrudes on this finish, fruit is a little muted, slight residual sugar feels a little bit flabby. Out of whack.

Muted, lime cordial notes, a little red apple, very slight sulphur. Softly juicy, it's a little short and a little anonymous. Fruit muted. Meh.

Again savoury, meaty with a little minerality but this time showing some peachy fruit and a little sulphur prickle. In the mouth it's juicy, peachy, slight texture. Okay

Peachy, touch of sulphur, smidge of red apple. Medium plus intensity acidity, a little frizzante spritz note, textured grip, similar flavours. Okay

A little pineapple drop, baked sweet ripe but not bruised apple, a little sweaty armpit note. Medium plus intensity acidity, sweet, similar flavour profile to the nose, medium plus length. Balanced. Nice.

2020 Sheldrake Point Late Harvest Riesling
Slightly gamey apricot, sweet spice, a little lemon and lime in support. Lusciously sweet - too much residual sugar for the acidity lends a cloying note to the palate. Out of whack

Ripe apple, sweet spice, slight peach and apricot , fresh, floral top notes. Juicy, fresh, tangy, peach, apricot, acid just about enough for luscious sweetness, all travels very long. Lovely.

2019 Sheldrake Point Riesling Ice Wine
Ripe red apples, freshly tilled earth, peachy underpin with a little orange, Luscious levels of sugar are pushing the acidity a little too much lending a slightly cloying quality to the ripe apple and peach fruit. Hmm.

A little musky, meaty note, touches of citrus, finer lime and lemon and a smidge of sulphur. Medium plus intensity acidity, tangy, citrus more to the fore on the palate, finishes a little short. Meh

2019 Chateau Ste. Michelle & Dr. Loosen Riesling Eroica Gold
Apricot, peach, wood glue over lime cordial. Sweet - the residual sugar offsets the medium plus intensity acidity nicely, apricot and peach with slight lime on the palate. Very slightly out of whack for me. Hmm.

Initially sulphur, beneath this apricot, ripe apple, smells quite ripe and sweet. Medium plus intensity acidity works against the abundant residual sugar, textured burr tugs at the palate, ripe apple and muted stone fruit. Slight alcohol warmth on the finish. Okay

Savoury, slightly meaty, plenty of sulphur, grapefruit, tiny touch of unripe peach. Juicy, tangy, medium plus intensity acidity, ripe grapefruit and that slight peach note. Medium length. Hmm

A little gamey, meaty, savoury over candy floss, sherbet, muted fruit shows a little apple tending to custard apple. Medium plus intensity acidity is offset by residual sugar, texture grip and a touch of petillance. Fruit equally muted here. Pity.

Peachy, wet stone, muted citrus, slight sulphur. Medium plus intensity acidity, tangy, lots of texture more green citrus on the palate though not falling into the lime cordial space.
Closing
Lots of things to like - as per earlier tasting with Peter doing Great Southern etc Rieslings there is a definite move to expand the wine-making palate when it comes to Riesling in Australia. Very interesting.
