From the weird yet wonderful 2016 vintage and as always a special occasion to cross paths with his wines. The 2016 at this stage is welcoming but also young with a good helping of soft smoky yet very present oak . At the start of its drinking cycle but every bit as excellent as expected albeit this will be a lot better once the oak is fully assimilated. Lacks that flinty edge of Chablis at this stage but the palate feel makes up for all. 93 and with a lot of future

The ever welcoming and hospital Etheliya at Comice , Paris dropped a hint that she had received a few bottles of this and the 2009 and albeit priced a bit too steep we went along and frankly what a show.
Had we had this blind we would have said late 90s Guigal Landonne albeit the lack of obvious oak would have perplexed us. Smokey bacon, black cherry, pepper and as textbook great Cote Rotie as it gets . Drinking exceptionally well now to the point we are thinking of delivering our own from IB as frankly not sure how better this will get. That been said it did feel like it had a lot of life in the tank. Magnificent and an easy 96

Came out of the private cellar of Comice, Paris as in discussing how to close our beautiful dinner the exceptional owner/sommelier Eftheliya Hananova said “ I have an idea”. And indeed a great one . Nutty, soft oxidative, bright, well round, brightness that cuts thought the rich fruit and really a beautiful wine out of left field. Easy 92 and has the stuffing to go another 20 years.
