Dark berries, mushroom and savoury flavours. Completely mellowed, dense, rich. M+ body, moderate acidity, fine grained tannins, all smooth and round texture with a sweet fruity concentrated core. Some creamy notes in m+ finish.

Can’t believe it’s 25 year old. Still have complete and solid structure, energetic and vigorous, what a long live Pinot Noir! Far beyond my cognition on NZ PN, I thought 12 year cellaring is reasonable to top end NZ PN, 15 years reaches boundary, seems I underestimated those NZ Grand Crus.

Blind tasting. Cassis, rich and bold. Full body, ripe tannins, heavy and grippy, solid acidity backbone, sweet concentrated core, which almost misled me to guess it’s a new world, like Napa. Cedar and mocha in long finish. Very well performance, just stepping into its peak window although having at least another 10 years ahead. A wonderful vintage, wonderfully aged.

dense ripe blackberry and dark plum, moderate clove and cinnamon, a little cigar box. full body, solid acidity, fine tannins, a little grippy, long finish with dark chocolate and mild cedar notes. it's surprisingly completed integrated though it's still young and energetic. it's enjoyable and accessible now, but confidently lay down for next 10 year.

2009 Maison Leroy Bourgogne France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
93 points
medium body, fresh berries, savoury mushroom, meat, a little mineral hints. all smooth and mellowed together, fine grained tannins, fresh acidity. excellent on elegance and balance, with good complexity and freshness.

Very enjoyable and pleasant, it's a Leroy, nothing to say, just salute then empty the bottle!

opened and breathed for 10 minutes. the nose is unclear, not appealing. heavy layered tannins, still grippy, might lasting in next 10 years. balanced acidity, cedar and some leather, earth notes. however, it's faded on details, getting very old, sagging texture, lost the inner strength. not a good vintage, over the peak on flavours, bit the modest structure is still solid, and still enjoyable in general.

cassis, red fruits, moderate spices with a sweet fruity core, m+ body, supple tannins, elegant style, at its peak, quite enjoyable, but less harmony than good vintages.
