Mature deep color. Baked orchard fruit, citrus and dough with a vanilla creme undertone. Medium bead. Creamy palate. Dough and orchard fruit. Lovely.

Interesting that others have found some oxidation or found this to be over the hill but it gies to show that there is no such thing as a great wine, only great bottles. This bottle was still on the young side for riesling, with a deep but age appropriate color and aromas of petrol, apple, ripe stone fruit and mineral. The palate mirrors the bouquet and has a terrific richness. Long finish. Beautiful. I wish I had a few more.

Double decanted off its sediment a little over three hours before service. On first pour there’s dark fruit and leather notes, but also something along the lines cedar, but not quite, almost a musty bark note. It took a while to fully reveal itself, but yes, there is definitely some TCA lurking in there, and it became more evident on the palate before it really showed up in the bouquet.

From a half bottle, opened after dinner. In a word, terrific. Slate, ripe apple, peach and sulphur notes. The palate shows abundant ripe stone fruit and something a bit tropical as well, with a nice vein of acidity.
