Very good concentration, generous yellow fruit, rich and complex, medium generous fine mousse, creamy, bright acidity, strong limestone mineral, and a long mature yellow fruit driven finish. This is a fully developed example.

Explosive nose displaying intense, pure, concentrated black fruit, blackberry liqueur, crushed blackberries, boysenberry, liquid smoke, dark flowers, white pepper, sweet spices, and limestone. Exceptional concentration with layers upon layers of intense black fruit. Rich and powerful, yet also very fresh and pure, with bright acidity, strong mineral notes, and a long, intense, concentrated black fruit-driven finish, with hints of liquid smoke and flowers at the end. This is a big-scale Syrah, reminiscent of one made by Chave. Both Chave and SQN lovers will appreciate this wine.

This reminds me the 13 version a bit. Medium expressive nose displaying subtle primary black fruit, blackberry, black cherry, ink, licorice, a hint of oak, black pepper and mineral. Good concentration, slightly subdued black fruit, slightly lean, good acidity, strong earthy mineral, and a medium long subdued black fruit driven finish.

Medium expressive nose displaying ripe concentrated black fruit, blackberry, blue berry, a hint oak, smoke and earth. Very good concentration, bulky black fruit, medium acidity, medium mineral and a medium long finish. Good concentration but a bit chunky and straightforward. It is a sold wine but nothing really remarkable.

Expressive nose displaying ripe concentrated red and black fruit, blackberry liqueur, maraschino cherry, liquid smoke, caramel, black pepper, cumin, turmeric, and earth. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated red and black fruit, rich and sweet, bright acidity, earthy mineral, and a long concentrated red and black fruit driven finish. The acidity is super bright, perhaps acidifies? This is a textbook example of SQN syrah.

Bright light-yellow color. Medium expressive nose displaying ripe yellow citrus fruit, perhaps peach and lemon curd but very none-descriptive, a hint of butterscotch, sweet spices and limestone. Good concentration, slightly coiled yellow citrus, dense and ripe but also steely, bright acidity, medium mineral, and a medium long ripe yellow citrus driven finish. The fruit is a bit coiled, not sure if cellaring helped.

En magnum. Expressive nose displaying ripe black fruit with a hint of red, blackberry jam, blackberry liqueur, mulberry, plum, fruitcake, strong tobacco, leather, dark spices and earth. Very good concentration, generous ripe black fruit, rich and sweet, medium acidity, earthy mineral, and a medium to long ripe black fruit driven finish with tobacco and leather at the end. This is a classic CDP, displaying generous tobacco and leather.

Elegant yet energetic nose displaying ripe yellow fruit, lemon curd, caramel apple, brioche, light caramel, honeysuckle, honey and limestone. Beautifully integrated palate, finely layered delicious yellow fruit, very fine medium generous mousse, pure, precise and fresh, bright acidity, fine mineral, and a long sweet yellow fruit driven finish. This is drinking incredibly well.

Medium expressive nose displaying ripe yellow fruit, baked apple, apple, brioche, honey, caramel, sweet spices and limestone. Medium concentration, generous yellow fruit, warm and round, medium fine and medium generous mousse, medium acidity and mineral, and a medium long finish. The nose is closer to Champagne but not the palate. Very well made but not a good QPR.

Expressive nose displaying perfectly ripe black and red fruit, blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis, a hint of cherry compote, milk chocolate, ink, luxurious oak, dark spices and earth. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of rich black fruit, silky and polished, bright acidity, strong mineral, and a long ripe black fruit driven finish. This is very polished and modern but remains distinctively Bordeaux. This is drinking well in a very youthful way at the moment but can improve for a decade or more.

Youthful nose displaying generous slightly dry black fruit, black cherry, raspberry preserve, a hint of sous bois, soy, dry shitake, tree bark, cola, dark spices and earth. There is a hint of dirty damp cellar. Fully integrated palate, generous black fruit, still rich but also showing a good balance, medium acidity, earthy mineral, and a medium to long ripe black fruit driven finish. Drinking well.

Medium expressive nose displaying clean generous red fruit, strawberry, cherry, a hint of caramel, rose, sweet spices and earth. Very good concentration, generous clean red fruit, silky and polished, perfect amount of acidity, earthy mineral, and a medium to long generous red fruit driven finish. Perhaps due to Charmes terroir, the fruit is generous, but the overall impression is not terribly complex.

From a half bottle. Medium generous ripe yellow fruit, peach, dry peach, burnt sugar, sweet spices and medium mineral. Medium concentration, medium generous sweet yellow fruit, silky and fluid, medium acidity and mineral, and a medium long finish. A bit flat and not terribly expressive. Everything seems medium here.
