albert's bottle...i like the nice flower bottle... elegant, creamy, lush and very bubbly. i had the 96 belle epoque couple mths ago and i prefered that. but, this is nice stuff.

jackson's bottle. light fruits later giving way to almonds. elegant palate. very nice. brought back memories of the '95 drank couple mths ago.

my bottle. not 5 star vintage but bought at good price. decanted 2+hrs then started to show more. astringent. tk, albert & morgan commented on the old vine taste. i just checked. avg vine age is 40yrs old. the nose is unique. very interesting. but i do not like these kind of stalkish/stemmy nose. palate wasnt good. felt lean. the sourness at the end is slightly jarring. can still keep in cellar, but at the peak already, so it'll be going nowhere but down.

1999 Château La Conseillante France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol

tk's bottle. he said he decanted 2+hrs prior. was decanted another 2+hrs over dinner. it's still closed. initially, grippy with cassis. a waste of money to drink when still closed. good thing after dinner, i had somemore wines with tk, and there is still some left after decanting in the bottle. let it sit in the glass for another 1+ hrs and the cassis gives way to more smoke. tk remarked that that's the conseillante he remembers. very nice, but too bad there is too little left.
Red
1994 Château Lafleur France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol

morgan's bottle. another superb waste of money thanks to not getting the full potential out of the wine. morgan was asked to decant 6 hrs but he opened the bottle and let it sit for 6hrs. later decanted for 3+hrs. nose of flowers. very nice and elegant indeed. when i tasted it, i suddenly blurted out "omg! it tastes fantastic!". i wish i had more of this wine to drink y'day. but drunk over dinner, this wine was not fully open. a shame. good thing after i went back to tk's place, there is still a bit left in the bottle to pour 1/5 of a glass. very nice.

my bottle. decanted for 7+ hrs then it finally opened. initially, muted nose, then like what the prev TN described, some soy sauce. very astringent. but after 7+ hrs of decanted, this wine finally opened. nice and sweet nose of powered sugar & prunes. palate & texure is not bad but cant compare to the '94 lafleur. but still, i prefer the nose of '04 trotanoy to '94 lafleur.
