Introduction
A yearly event organized by Lothar Schrempp, owner of the Kinkelstuben. He always tries to give an overview across the German wine regions. This time he invited wine estates from the Rheingau (2), Baden (2), Ahr, Ruwer, Pfalz and Franken. The event was crowded as usual and I tooked relatively short notes on the following wines.
Flight 1 - C. von Schubert'sche Gutsverwaltung Grünhaus (Ruwer) (4 notes)
White
2007 Von Schubert Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett trocken
Pale. Lemon, apple, white blossoms. Fresh acidity. Medium finish. Good

2007 Von Schubert Maximin Grünhäuser Herrenberg Riesling Superior
Complies with a "Auslese" grade. Pale yellow with green reflects. Retained smell of white blossoms and peaches. Soft with a well bound acidity. Mouth-watering and very long on the palate. Excellent!

2007 Von Schubert Maximin Grünhäuser Abtsberg Riesling Spätlese
Peach. Extraordinary sweetness/acidity balance. Hefty but light in alcohol, smooth with a lot of extract. Loooong

Quite similar to the Spätlese but not that smooth. Peach. Extraordinary sweetness/acidity balance. Hefty but light in alcohol (8.5%). Long.

2006 Peter Jakob Kühn Riesling Sekt Brut
Vibrant with a medium-fine perlage. For me a bit to sparkling.

2007 Peter Jakob Kühn Oestrich Riesling Quarzit
Spätlese quality. Mirabelle in the nose. Typical Rheingau attitude, lemon, a lot of acidity, lacking harmony.

2007 Peter Jakob Kühn Riesling Landgeflecht
Part of the Doosberg cru with clay soil and few stones. Softer as the "Quarzit 2007" and also not very impressive.

2007 Peter Jakob Kühn Riesling Graziosa
Astonishing: already some petrol in the nose, strange for such a young wine. However, on the palate it develops a harmonic balance of sweetness and acidity, white peach. Enjoyable length.
White - Off-dry

Diluted, light and short. Disappointing.

2007 Knipser Chardonnay & Weißburgunder trocken
golden amber color. nutty tones in the nose. fruity, quince and pear, some banana probably? Medium finish. Good

Yellow straw color. Stimulating smell, peaches. Juicy, full-bodied and fruity with glaze. Long finish. Excellent.

Juicy, beautiful elegance of fruit and extract. Full mouth-coating. A bit spritz. Long, long, long.

Cigar box, leather. Cherries, chocolate. Elegant and long. Very good.

2003 Knipser Spätburgunder Spatlese Trocken Kalkmergel
do not agree with the notes from the previous taster. This wine is a stunner and has nothing in common with a Port. Pencil lead, tobacco, leather and game in the nose. The wood is well integrated but the tannins are still present and give the wine a nice grip. Very good extracted and nicely balanced with the fruit. Extremely long.

Smoky but still fruity on the palate, black cherries, nicely integrated wood. Good

Elegant nose, a bit of honey, soft with supporting acidity on the palate. Good

Viola in the nose, unwooded. Creamy, Brioche, a lot of extract, very long, very good. Excellent!

Just bottled. Brioche, vanilla, creamy. The nice acidity gives a good length.

Smoked bacon, dark chocolate, leather, cedar wood in the nose. Cool cherries, blackberry. Medium long finish

2007 Weingut Salwey Oberrotweiler Eichberg Riesling Großes Gewächs
Mouthcoating, extremely full-bodied with overwhelming extracts. Very long finish. Excellent.

Can easily subscribe Lyle's TN. Juicy and mineralic, slight sweetness due to high extraction. A wow wine.

Nice bubbly, deep red. not as usual like a salmon sushi. Distinctive Pinot Noir aromatics and a nice and steady perlage. Great!

Light red color, typical for a basic Ahr red. Sweet extracts, lots of fruits. Not my style.

Dark crimson red, a bit fading on the rim. Cigar box. Chocolate. A bit thin on the finish.

A winter wine: Baked fruits, vanilla, cloves, gingerbread. Like this kind of Frühs.
