Flight 1 (6 notes)

Red
2005 Yalumba Shiraz & Viognier Barossa Australia, South Australia, Barossa

Fruit explosion on the nose and in the mouth. Skittles and black pepper. Easy drinking with zippy finish.
Red
2007 Domaine Sainte Leocadie Minervois Cuvée Leukadios France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Minervois
78 points
Not feeling this one at all....sparked some great conversation though. Very funky nose of deli counter, hot dog, and feet. Very little fruit in the mouth with more of the funk. Weird, weird wine. Pass.
Red
2006 Robert Hall Rhone De Robles USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles
86 points
Mute nose with some pepper and spice. Sour cherry fruit in the moth. Not impressed....thin with short finish. Not a great QPR at $20.
Red
2005 Alain Jaume Lirac Clos de Sixte France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Lirac
89 points
Jammy plum on the nose and in the mouth. Vibrant fruit on the mid-palate. Balanced with bold tannins. Definitely letting the other bottle sit.
Red
2005 Tallulah Syrah Shake Ridge Ranch USA, California, Sierra Foothills, Amador County
91 points
Interesting nose of raw meat and blackberry fruit. Great mid-palate with more amazing fruit. Very balanced with a long finish. Favorite of the night.
Red
2006 Kangarilla Road Shiraz Viognier Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
Consistent with previous notes (90). More red fruit this time around. Floral elements with baking spice on the nose. Love the fruit in the mouth...touch of oak. Nice finish.
