Introduction

Both of these were popped and poured at the dinner table. The Chardonnay was the clear winner as a stand alone bottle and as paired with the dish. The salmon was almost!!!

Tina and Glenn brought this over to accompany a miso glazed salmon with brown rice and sesame spinach. A perfect match. The Chardonnay is beautifully balanced, clean and precise. Medium weighted, terrific acidity, lemon and lime along with green apples and a little bit of honey. Enough complexity, weight, finish and balance to push into the Outstanding category. Well done Ed!!

I seem to recall picking this up at a tasting of "bargain" Pinot Noirs and liking it. Well on this night, could be the combination of not working with the salmon, maybe the particle cork or maybe just an okay bottle.

This wine seemed simple with tart crancherry fruit, a little earth but it was almost too light, too simple. Don't recalled what I paid for it but if it was around $30 that was too much. I really like this producers Roses though.
