White - Sparkling
N.V. Vranken Champagne Demoiselle Tete de Cuvée EO Brut France, Champagne

This was a bit on the sweet side, but pleasantly crisp and full of red apple fruit, with a toasty clean finish.
Red
2007 Siro Pacenti Rosso di Montalcino Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino
90 points
Consistent with prior TN. Another solid bottle; slightly horsey and reductive immediately upon opening. Dark fruit; medium body. Enticing spice, with some interesting caramel/oak flavors after a couple of hours of air. Needs a few years to pull itself together.
Red
2005 Château Thivin Côte de Brouilly France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Côte de Brouilly
92 points
Tasted blind. I guessed this was a young village Gevrey-Chambertin. Spicy, savory nose. Awesome flavors of mint, red fruit, and forest floor. Well structured. Deep, long, and complex on the palate. Wow, this is serious, ageworthy stuff. Easily the best Beaujolais I've ever had.
Red
2006 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Chambolle-Musigny France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny
flawed
Corked.
Red
2005 Nicolas Potel Nuits St. Georges France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges
91 points
Consistent with prior TN. Meat, blood, tar, and iron. This wine has yet to close down.
Red
2004 Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
85 points
Somewhat confected and Porty on the initial nose, but better behaved on the palate. Big, ripe stewed cherry fruit and baking spices, with an interesting lemon/citrus note after some time in the glass. Large-scaled and lushly textured.
White - Off-dry
1994 Zind-Humbrecht Gewurztraminer Goldert Vendange Tardive France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru
92 points
Deep, mature gold color. Spicy, oily peaches, apricots, flowers, and diesel that build to a long, complex finish. Deftly balanced sweetness and acidity. Sleek and racy in personality. Delicious.
