Flight 1 - Dinner in Japanese Restaurant Bissoh, Beaune (2 notes)
White
2006 Domaine Anne Gros Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Cuvée Marine
85 points
Light yellow color. Muted nose. Balanced taste, chalky, citrus, a bit Chablis like. Short length. Not very expressive, however well balanced. Nice aperitive wine.
White
2005 Domaine François Mikulski Meursault 1er Cru Gouttes d'Or
88 points
Very closed, takes time to open, doesn't completely happen in the 2 hours we drink this wine despite decanting. Mineral, concentrated. Some butter, but on the whole more a Puligny Montrachet style. Good length. I wonder what this wine will show in 2-3 years.
Flight 2 - Dinner in Restaurant Chez Guy, Gevrey Chambertin (3 notes)
White
1997 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet
90 points
Golden yellow color. Nose of apricot, honey, caramel. Taste of apricot, nuts, almonds. Nicely developed and balanced wine. Long length.
Red
2001 Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St. Jacques
92 points
Ruby garnet color. Mature, fully developed. Nose: caramel, red fruit, little rusticity. Taste full of velvety soft red fruit, good minerality, long aftertaste, excellent.
Red
2005 Domaine Alain Burguet Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Favorites Vieilles Vignes

Dark red color. Nose loads of dark fruit, plum and some stable smells. Taste lots of fruit, sweet, spicy, round tannins. Still young. At this moment I find this wine a bit overly fruited and oaky, not really my style. Needs more integration? After an hour in the glass I became more positive about this wine, kind of settled down.
