Very fresh, vibrant blackberry and raspberry fruit, perhaps with a slightly fishy edge. There's lovely fresh fruit on the palate: raspberry fruit flavours. Very clean and easy. Drinks on its own very easily. There's a great, yummy, juicy deliciousness to this.

A very even red and black fruits nose with some gentle oak. On the palate, there's quite fresh fruit initially, but there are also significant oaky tannins. It's remarkably youthful for an eight year old wine. Perhaps more of a traditional Rioja than some others at this tasting, but with a nice freshness of fruit behind.

Very clean, bright fresh nose with hints of cherry fruit, alongside blackberries and raspberries. Very nice perfume. Lovely fresh palate, with a very nice structure. Very classy. Super balance.

Quite a toasty nose with black fruit and subtle vanilla hints. Elegant, delicate palate, though with a certain tightness of fruit. Very, very balanced. It has a lovely texture in the mouth. Jolly classy stuff.
Being hypercritical, this is possibly so balanced as to lack a bit of character.

The nose has very concentrated black fruit with a hint of perfume, and lots of woody spice notes (cinnamon?) and some coffee. Not at all noticeably oaky on the nose. There's sweetish black fruit on the palate - very good fruit. A fairly austere finish with good tannic structure evident. Lots of promise.

Very smooth, very concentrated, sweet black fruit on the nose, which is very integrated with a touch of leather. On the palate, there are good, fresh fruit characters, a nice structure and very good balance. Delicious Rioja.
