Flight 1 (2 notes)

Red
2005 Marquis Philips Cabernet Sauvignon S2 Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
92 points
More rich, round, and polished than the '02, with a nose of cherry cream and orange rind; luxurious palate, fresh cherries, creme de cassis, slight wintergreen, smoke, bacon, ripe chocolate; enticing and savory. Did not evolve much in the glass except possibly to show more alcohol. 92-93
Red
2002 Marquis Philips Cabernet Sauvignon S2 Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
91 points
Slight bricking; dark cherry nose woke slowly and stretched with the pleasure of being released; the flavors of sweet dark cherries, medicine, and autumn leaves evolved and became a little earthier with hints of spearmint over several hours. Interesting and worth contemplating now.
