This is tremendous. At a recent visit to the cellar door to pick up the delicious "basic" NV rosé, we picked up half a dozen of this, the "top" cuvee. We had a last minute and very rushed lunchtime appointment so didn't have time to taste in advance but you can't go all that far wrong with 2008s from decent producers (and it's our wedding year, too.) Based on some commentary elsewhere I was expecting a bit of a bruiser with plenty of oak waiting to integrate, but not at all - this is precise, minerally and delicious, with a pinpoint mousse and bags of class. Now I need to find a weekend to drive back and fill up the car with a selection of all their wines - this is the most expensive in the lineup, but is under 27 Euros a bottle. I've been a fan of the rosé for a while but never seen the other wines before; on this showing, Savès are rapidly becoming my go-to affordable Champagne grower.
