Definitely very berry, cherry and blackberry, but smooth to the palate, easy to drink and quite enjoyable. Full bodied Pinot Noir, but with a sweet flair. Would pair well with steak, blackened seafood, or lamb.

Best rose wine I've had. Dry, but filled with fruit flavors - strawberries, raspberries, pear. Just fabulous. Great on a hot summer day.

Deep cherry, peppery, full bodied wine with a slight astrigent after taste. Needs airation to dull the astrigency, but a pleasant wine once aired.

Light and refreshing. Honey aroma with apricot and pear flavors. Great alone but would pair well with spicy food.

Very light floral with a deep garnet color. Not very complex but smooth, especially after aerating. Slight licorice and cherry with leather and plum. Definitely on the lighter side of a Malbec. We will see what happens with aging.

Deep red sapphire to garnet color with a hint of brown. Leather aroma, no fruitiness. Bit of a sour palate, then some cherry and licorice. Not much else but some stringent from the alcohol. This is even after using a venturi aerator. Would not suggest buying though it is drinkable.

A refreshing wine. Smooth and medium bodied, with dark cherry, fruity soft silky finish.

Beautiful deep red-purple color. Spice notes with leather and anise, bit confusing in the mouth when first tried after opening, not much flavor. Will have to see how it improves over the next day of aeration.
UPDATE: Well, this wine benefits greatly with some air. It tastes much better the next day! Blueberry and pomegranate, with earthy leather and mushrom. Definitely worth the wait... Open, wait, wait, then enjoy.

Some oak, apricot and pear aroma. Not much flavor, then is a bit acidic after swallowing, Some mineral notes. Probably not worth much attention now, may use it for cooking.

Not a lot of aroma when first opened, had a bit of seaweed and sesame. Leather, plum, and faint licorice taste. Smooth with no bite or offending flavors. Probably would pair well with a pork or chicken dish, but not enough body for heavier foods. Sipped it alone tonight; was enjoyable but not memorable.

We enjoyed it. An nice Aperitif with a strong cherry and red currant, acidic fruit flavor. A must to serve chilled and excellent after dinner while watching Game of Thrones. Think Sherry with a twist.

Full bodied wine that needs some air, better after at least an hour. Cherry, blackberry, leather aroma. Mineral and spice flavors. Drank alone, but would probably be best with a good steak.

Mushroom, plum, and berry aroma. Dark color. Pepper and licorice flavors, but not strong. No lasting finish. Enjoyed by itself. This would be the last year I would drink it.

Lots of cherry, with some fruit, pepper and wood bouquet. Acidic initially. Lighter to medium finish. No harshness. Taste softened with exposure, but bouquet remained strong.

Mockingbird Hill RESERVE 2010 Truchard Vineyards Pinot Noir‏
UNIT SIZE: 750.00 ml
VARIETAL: Pinot Noir
VINTAGE: 2010
GRAPE: Pinot Noir
COUNTRY: United States
REGION: Carneros
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 14.50%
POINTS: 93
This is a knock dead gorgeous Pinot and less than 500 cases were produced. This is certainly the best Pinot Noir yet from the impressive Mockingbird Hill selections. Mockingbird Hill received a tiny allocation of wine from this small vintage of this highly regarded vineyard. An attractive ruby red hue. Perfumed and engaging aromas of dark cherries, raspberries and wild strawberries. From a single block from the great Truchard vineyard, aged 12 months with 90% French Oak, one third of which is new. Vibrant fresh fruit and layered with nice dark red fruit including fresh cherries, raspberries, red plums and touches of cola, cranberries and milk chocolate. Lush, round, and aromatic with a pleasing finish. This wine is drinking great now and will drink nicely for several more years with Pinot that has just been bottled, allow this a little lay down time. Perfect as an aperitif or pair with veal chops, corned beef, bouillabaisse, rare Ahi tuna with fresh wasabi, and wild salmon with green onions and ginger.

Vineyards
The Truchard Estate Vineyard encompasses 383 contiguous acres, of which 270 acres are planted. The vineyard is a series of hills and valleys, and contains a variety of soils: clay, shale, sandstone, volcanic rock and ash. The various combinations of terrain, geology, and marine-moderated temperatures provide unique winegrowing conditions. Currently the vineyard grows 10 different grape varieties, making it one of the most diverse estate vineyards in California.
Only 20% of the grapes from the Truchard Estate Vineyard are reserved for Truchard wines. The wines are handcrafted using traditional winemaking techniques, and exemplify the high quality fruit of this unique estate. They are truly: "wines with a sense of place".
Truchard wines have garnered much critical appreciation. Wines from the 1994, 1996, and 1997 vintages have been included in the Wine Spectator's Top 100 wines of the world. The winery was selected as the "Estate Winery of the Year" by Wine & Spirits in 1997 and 1998.

Pepper and blueberry with a little cherry on the nose. Smooth and elegant finish but lighter than the maroon color would imply. Very enjoyable without any food.

Just drank several bottles with family for Thanksgiving. Still in excellent condition. Should be good to drink into 2012 or 2013!
