Not sure what I am missing here as this really needs time but will never be more than 93 points. No harmony at all with nothing but sour cherry, bitter wood, pine sap and maybe if lucky vanilla. Opened in bottle for 4-5 hours without any improvement. Not overly tannic or acidic but my hope is time will help.

Schöne Kirschnoten, etwas rauchig, erdig. Hohe Säure, schön saftig. Alkohol zu aggressiv/dominant im Moment (15 vol.). Für mich deutlich zu jung. Sicherlich ein "grosser" Wein.

Tasted 3 times on three separate occasions last two weeks, and same result … unconvincing ! Backward and restrained on the nose.Palate was tight as a rock, with firm, slightly drying tannins and austere fruit.Short finish and in general it lacks depth and excitement. Not sure it had the balance for the long run.I don't see this anywhere near the spectacular 2009 and 2010.Three different bottles cannot lie.

A little disappointed after loving the Estate version. Beautiful blackberry/currant nose on opening. Made the mistake of slow oxing for an hour and first sip tasted like a syrah- smoke, plum....no thanks, love Syrah but hate smokey Cabs. Decanted right away and the smoke blew off within 5 minutes. Afterward cherries, blackberry, currant, but also some stewed prunes. Was going to give this an 89 but with time cassis and vanilla is emerging and its getting smoother in the decanter. Must say, I don't understand people who slow ox, I feel like wine either needs to be decanted or drank from the bottle. Physics doesn't support slow ox working, surface area is too small to make a difference in less than 24 hours.

Final judgement, not worth the money, if you've got ~$80 to spend do it elsewhere. This would be palatable at $40. I will try to review a few more in this price range over the next couple weeks.
