Fruit forward as expected, but back to the more recognizable Caymus flavor profile with more cassis and less kirsch and vanilla (though still present) than the 2012 and 2013 vintages. Beautiful inky dark purple. Blackberry and bark bouquet. An outstanding wine with good structure and well integrated tannins (after a few minutes of swirling). Full body, lusciously rich with low acidity. Cassis, blackbery, vanilla and a hint of a smoky sweet oak on the palate. A little hotter on the PnP than past vintages, but this is going to be a beautiful wine in the next few years. This is back to being a great steak or cheese wine.
