Gorgeous bouquet, showing quince, grapefruit, and garden flowers. Lovely right now, although still very much in its infancy. Quince and ripe pink grapefruit dominate the palate, with accents of honey and wildflowers. I love the sugar level here, just enough to make you want more, and it dissipates along the mid, only to return on the finish as freshly squeezed oranges. Grapefruit and limestone complete the long finish. Excellent balance and bright acidity.

Fruit filled nose, showcasing black currant, plum, anise, hints of sweet tobacco and cedar...but not quite there. Dark cacao teases in the background. Big, ripe, fruit tannins, but well integrated. Lots of plum and blackberry jam across the palate, accents of leather, vanilla, and violets. Dark chocolate returns for the long fruit filled finish. Nice velvety texture.

I know a lot of Americans can't wait...but give this some time. Now I have to find a btl to replace this one. This is way too young...tight yet soft like a young Margeaux, but with a Cab base. Mostly fruit at the moment...let the spice develop. 2014-2020

Holding beautifully! Opened up nicely, with more tart red berry fruit showing on the palate. Still very earthy and mineral driven, truffles, graphite, cinnamon, and clove dominating the palate. Acidity was fantastic and the tannins, while softer, were still voluptuous. Finish was long and spicy. I think it could go another 3-4 years. It will probably be another year or 2 before I dive into another bottle. Wish I had bought more of this stuff!

Strawberries and sweet cream on the nose with soft notes of peach and anise. Slightly off-dry on the palate, creamy strawberries continue throughout with clove and vanilla accents through the mid. Dry, strawberry finish. Some soft white pepper making things interesting, bright acid. A perfect way to move from lunch into dessert. 90+

A DRC collaboration wine, beautiful perfume of wild strawberries, cherries, and fresh rose blooms. Very floral, very pretty. Light, bright, wild strawberry juice on the palate, soft lime accents across the mid, before a return to a strawberry finish. Like it better than the Tavel. 90+

Was very closed down. I believe it's playing dumb at the moment. After a couple hours the nose started to emerge with soft notes of blackberry and plum, spices of leather and anise. Black fruit, leather, and black pepper on the palate, but all still very tight and a bit muddled. Acid and structure are nice. Medium length finish with some pepper and menthol. 88 + This wine has shown better and I believe it will again.

First Wine of Chateau du Seuil- Elegant, masculine, rich, and decadent all come to mind. Excellent balance, bouquet shows cigar box with ripe black currants and blackberries, licorice and soft accents of violets. Bouquet persists on the palate adding dark notes of roasted coffee and chocolate. Spicy white pepper plays across the palate. Long and dark finish. Exceptional! HOLD!

Chateau du Seuil is a small husband and wife team from the UK. I fell in love with these wines at first taste. The 2005 vintage was my first time tasting the Premier label.

Aromas of licorice, cedar, and brown spices. Lush blackberries across the palate, balanced with the spice. Long mineral driven finish. Tannins are still very tight. This was one of the first wines I ever rated.
