The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. You can find similar or better Cabernets much better than Don Melchor at half the Price,

I payed 120 dollars per bottle for the Don Melchor (4 bottles) and really the price was too high for what I got. I have tried chilean cabernets like Canepa Finisimo from Chile and Kaiken Ultra (bodega Montes but maid in Argentina) that are less than 30 dollars that did not dissapointed me like the Don Melchor. And nothing to say if you compare the DM against the Montes M. Another thing tha can afect my opinion is my special expectation I have for the DM

2010 Concha y Toro Cabernet Sauvignon Marqués de Casa Concha Puente Alto

I've followed/tasted this wine since the 2005 vintage and always found it to be a good value for the price. Was disappointed with the 2010 though, and found it to be the least pleasing of the six vintages tasted. When Wine Spectator rated it a 91 (March '13) the price shot up to $22 retail, quite overpriced. I'd buy it again if priced at $16 on the chance that it will improve in two to four years.
