Dark crimson color (darker than usual for pinot); small, pink meniscus. Sour black cherry, asian spice, blue lavender on the nose. Mouth-filing, but flat on the attack. Gets better on the palate: black cherry, sour cherry and spice. Finish is short and tart. Got lost with grilled salmon and asparagus; definitely more of an aperitif - and give it at least an hour decant to get the full flavor. On balance, a lot of work for what is ultimately a so-so experience at this price point.

Wow, this bottle was a “freebie” to me and I still thought it was just ok. Not great, but no liabilities though either, but that’s only half the story. For a wine with this cost on CT, don’t you believe it should elicit a much stronger opinion from everyone. I believe this wine at the winery is $150! Seriously?!?!? CT’s Value is only $65. I’m used to a huge difference between the winery’s and CT’s price, but this was crazy. What type of discount does the Wine Club get?!?!?
