Was expecting a bit more based on the Garagiste write-up. Still, not bad for a very naturally made BDX blanc for <$12. Perhaps will leave my second bottle for a bit.

Hints of bicycle chain grease, shag carpet and countertop. A bit of sawdust on the finish. I would recommend pairing it with a bag of grass clippings

Purchased from Garagiste who refunded the 6 bottles, all of which were bad, without issue.

11/3/17, 11:02 PM - Public. Lots of people received bad bottles of this vintage from Garagiste so I figured I’d let them know it’s easy to get a refund if they were affected as well (I figured this out myself after seeing other similar reviews for this wine so figured I’d return the favor). Is that inappropriate to include as a review ?

Day 1: nose of charcoal briquette, opening to a palate of charcoal briquette. Long finish of charcoal briquette.

Day 2: poured down sink after smelling.

In all seriousness, this was our second bottle and it was just as painful as the first. Wondering if flawed or if we are losing our minds, based on other positive reviews.

Edited: to reflect that this is a flawed wine. There is simply no way that this was the intended flavor profile.

I got this wine from Garagiste and find myself wondering if the winery sent Garagiste their worst lot of wine to allow them to meet the aggressive price point Garagiste offers.

Regarding the wine itself, it is incredibly acidic with a sour taste bordering on vinegar. It doesn't smell corked, but it tastes almost that bad. Two days after opening, it mellowed out enough to the point of being drinkable, but even then, far from pleasant.

I'd be curious if anyone else has the same experience with the wine from Garagiste or elsewhere. Please leave a note in the comments if so.

Edit: updating review to note that this is flawed as many others have experienced. Clearly my bottles were all spoiled seeing how many others liked the wine.

4/30/17, 5:03 PM - Did you purchase from Garagiste as well or somewhere else? From the other reviews, it seems like the wine can't possibly be this sour/bad in all cases or no one would have marked it as something they enjoy. (so say my tastebuds at least) :)

4/29/17, 6:40 AM - Did you get this from Garagiste by chance? See my review of the same wine please if so.

4/29/17, 8:22 AM - Thanks for confirming you had the same experience. I've had luck getting them to refund corked wines in the past. Definitely let them know.

I'm going to let my remaining 2 bottles sit for at least a year as well before trying again, hopefully it improves.
