Needs a really long decant to be enjoyed. Second day was much better.

Not unpleasant but thin and forgettable - I’ll probably treat the others like rosé and serve them chilled some afternoon in the summer - it was in the WineText huckster 11/11 $11.11 case, which is about what it’s worth - no more blind cases from Gary V for me!
  • catlady commented:

1/7/22, 9:25 AM - Bought the same case--won't do that again either! 6 pinots out of 12--and that is not my favorite wine.

Oh, I wish I had bought more!
  • catlady commented:

12/6/21, 11:11 AM - I saw that but worried that 2011 might be a bit beyond it's time. It wasn't a great year. Aren't wine slash, wine access, wine heist, wine text addictive? Cellartracker informs me as to the community average value, and if I'm familiar with the area or the wine maker, then I have to try!

A bit perplexing......very odd at the pnp...a bit of brett? Coarse feeling in the mouth. Put it down for an hour while we pnp another wine and came back to it after dinner to find it smooth, and settled. Maybe better but hard to say for sure so going with the early score from this one tonight.

9/24/21, 9:10 AM - Love these wines at the tasting room but always found them a tougher tasting at home. They all require long decants I think to live up to their potential.

Still in a good place but you can taste the edge of the cliff. Drink up.
  • catlady commented:

8/27/21, 12:11 PM - Ahh, so that was what we were tasting--the edge of the cliff!

Tasted against some other great wines, but this was the favorite. Still needed a long decant and has some years to go. Had with filet with port wine mushroom sauce. Yum.
  • catlady commented:

11/2/20, 5:15 PM - At least 2 hours. It can wait another couple of years also.

A fruit forward zin with great depth and character. Husband tasted tobacco.

Good but not worth the price

Nose of black berry, red cherry, and black cherry cola, same on the palate, big body, tasty, lots of rich fruit, mouth filling fruit, slightly simple, easy to enjoy with a modest decant, easily last another 5 years but why wait, great with meaty pizza, long finish.

5/11/19, 8:47 AM - Read your review of Bedrock old vine Zinfandel. Laughed because we took it to a byob pizza place. Perfect.

Nose of smoky oak, pear, peach, sliced apple, same on the palate, very tasty, medium/big body, for medium term drinking, mouth filling fruit, almost elegant, and a long finish.

12/25/18, 9:31 AM - I noticed a while ago that you and I share many of the same thoughts on wines. I rated and wrote about this one before reading your review but found this one of my favorites.

We were surprised at how good this was at the winery and have dunce shared with fellow wine lovers. It hit high marks for taste and value. Fruit forward wine with good depth.
  • catlady commented:

    3/20/16, 10:05 AM - Since shared. Typo.
