Just awesome. Bouquet of flower, blueberry, earth, and graphite. Flavors of blackberry, plum, coffee, licorice and mint are added when tasted. Light and graceful vs. expectations. Flavors go on and on. This should last for 20 more years.

1/23/14, 8:59 AM - Did you decant and for how long? I have one bottle of this (never had Grange before) and would like to open it soon. It feels like infanticide, so I need to decide how early to open/decant it.

Really well put together and a great middle ground between the bigger, riper Cali Pinots (Kosta Browne) and the completely lean and mean versions (Anthill Farms). Really silky mouthfeel that fattened with a few hours decant. Red and dark fruits, long finish. Very slight funk (earth).

12/23/13, 6:24 AM - Don't get me wrong, I loved the Anthill 2011s I've had (see notes just posted on WB). I just used "lean and mean" as description of the style more than a show of distaste. I wish I had more to be able to see what they do in 5-8 years.

To the question, I opened the wine at my house for about an hour, then re-corked and took to a friends. There is was reopened for 45 min or so and drank over 3 hours.
