Shows a nice translucent purple color along with a muted nose of cherries, sous bois and some floral notes. This is medium-bodied and quite firm - yet nicely focused - offering an attractive combination of tart strawberry, cherry and pomegranate flavors. There's good balance here between the fruit, acidity and oak, as well as decent length to the finish. Not quite as rich or fruity as I expected for the vintage, but this is still head and shoulders above the 2008 bottling. The bottom line is that you would have to look long and hard to do better than this in a Burgundy for less than $18.

1/29/13, 8:08 PM - FYI I stumbled across some '08 at Trader Joe's for $12.99 and ended up going back for all the rest. After 3 bottles so far, its showing incredibly well. Better than many $40+ bottles of '09 red Burgandys I've tried.
