Fantastic wine, especially when you find it on sale for less than $20!!!! Buy and drink like you would a cab. It totally fits in, but with darker fruit I think. Just a great wine.

CT drinking windows are often ridiculously abbreviated, and this bottle is a good example. As long as you haven't stored your bottle in a terrarium, I think you'll find that this wine is not remotely over the hill, despite its 2013 expiration date above. As others have noted, bright acidity and moderately assertive tannins. Classic cherry and leather notes with an interesting earthy element, somewhat dialed back in this sub-$15 Barbera suitable for a weeknight meal.
